Two
Third-Graders Arrested For Marijuana Possession
- Associated Press
Two 9-year-olds were arrested at their elementary school
Monday after a lunchroom aide discovered they were carrying 15 plastic
bags of marijuana in their pockets.

- What do you do when a fellow student approaches you and asks if
you want to buy some drugs? Have you ever been approached by a drug
dealer before? What did you do?(parents,
do not over react to the answers you may hear - be ready for anything)
- How can you tell if someone is on drugs? What if one of your friends
starts to get into drugs of any kind - what would you say to them
first? Would you try to get them to stop or just stop hanging around
them altogether? If you would try to get them to quit what steps would
you take to do it?(Matthew 18:15-17)
- Why do you think kids are drawn to drugs? Why are some kids drawn
to it and others not? What inner need are they trying to meet with
drug use? (Security and Strength)
- Look at James 1:14-15 and discuss
the process of sin. Have your children put the drug addiction process
in the timeline shown in James. What other sins can you put in that
timeline? When is the best time to get out? When does something become
a sin? Also check out Matthew 18:6.
