After Court Rules Pledge of Allegiance Unconstitutional
- Fox
News
Critics of the decision were flabbergasted and
warned that it calls into question the use of "In God We Trust" on the
nation's currency, the public singing of patriotic songs like "God Bless
America," even the use of the phrase "So help me God" when judges are
sworn into office.

Note: The
questions are not numbered so you won't feel obligated to ask them
in order. Read all of the questions first to see how you want this
dialogue to go.
- How do you feel about this ruling - outraged, "kiss our country
good-bye," or do you see it as the perfect time to have such
a ruling - a week before we celebrate our great nation's birthday
in a year when the focus on God is much more prevalent due to the
scar-tissue on this great nation's citizens caused by 9-11?
- Does this ruling take glory away from God or give it to Him all
the more? Think about it. God is the center of most, if not all, conversations
across the nation even the globe. And what's more miraculous is every
major TV and radio network (even music stations) as well as any written
news publication are talking about God today.
- Would you say God is getting more press and more glory now than
He did after 9-11?
- What affect do you think this will have on our nation, our schools,
our justice system, our "tolerance" of political correctness,
our military, our Faith?
- What do you see as the flawed thinking of Mr. Newdow and the 9th
circuit supremes? What arguments can you give to back up your stance
on this issue if you were to talk to someone who supports the ruling?
- What other scriptures come to mind?
Galatians 6:7; Psalm 14:3; Romans
1:21,28; 3:18; 13:1; Ephesians 4:18; Acts 5:29;
GOD BLESS AMERICA!

From Dolls to Thongs - LA Times (free registration
required)
Known as 'tweens in the marketing world, youngsters in
this age group are spending like never before, $90 billion a year, by
one estimate. And they are doing it with new freedom, as their busy,
dual-income parents are more likely to indulge their whims. Girls in
particular have grabbed retailers' attention with their desire for trendier
clothes.
The
race to raise a brainier baby - USA Today
Fueling this frenzy are new parents who find themselves
under both real and imagined pressure to make sure their tots can compete.
Preschools often require references for admission. Kindergartens expect
kids to arrive with solid number and letter skills. Even President Bush
has weighed in, pushing the three R's over simple play by proposing
to retrain 50,000 Head Start instructors in teaching the alphabet and
other old-school basics. Then there's the sad saga of Elizabeth Chapman,
who famously falsified 8-year-old Justin's IQ and other test scores,
hoping to give him a leg up.
New
site turns in Web pornographers - World Net
Daily
Morality in Media Inc., a nonprofit organization that
works to curb illegal porn traffic, launched a new website called ObscenityCrimes.org
where Net users can file a report against possible obscenity-law violators.
Why
men drag their feet down the aisle - USA Today
Young men won't commit to marriage because they are so
comfortable with their current arrangement just living with a
woman that they don't see why they should bother, a new study
from Rutgers University says. A divorce could cost megabucks. And as
great as it would be to have kids, the men are a bit put off by the
expectation that they will share child-care burdens equally with their
wives. The findings are from Rutgers' National Marriage Project, which
released a report Tuesday on the top 10 reasons young men won't marry.
The observations won't startle anyone who follows the travails of the
unmarried young. But still, the report will probably inflame the current
debate on commitment that is taking place from academic campuses to
singles' bars.
Danger
Zone? - ABC News
Beyond the emotional and psychological damage the images
might do to youngsters, there is also the threat of physical harm not
just from engaging in unprotected sex, but from coming to believe that
the abuse shown on some sites or the images of children engaging in
sex with adults is normal, the psychologists said.
