Honesty trumps $5,000 in cash: Kirkland man finds stash in new home, returns it - Seattle Times
Rob Girling was hiding in the bedroom closet of his Kirkland home playing hide-and-seek with his daughter Sunday night when he noticed a bank envelope taped above the door — containing 100 crisp $50 bills.

  • What would you have done in this situation? Would you have struggled with the decision?

  • Rob Girling was described as going "above and beyond what the average person would have done." What do you think the average person would have done and why? What about the average Christian?

  • It was mentioned that it would have been perfectly legal for the Girlings to keep the money. Just because something is legal, does that make it right? Explain. Do you think people might try to make things legal just to make it right and stunt the growth of guilt in their lives?

  • What if it was a smaller amount of money? How does that change your outlook oin this situation?

  • Would you have returned the money expecting a reward? If you lost that much money what reward would you give?

  • Who's face is on the 50 dollar bill and how old do you think he is? (don't touch money while you eat - it's full of germs)

  • This Dad showed his daughter a great living example of character. Bravo Rob Girling! (Deuteronomy 6:7)

  • What Bible verses come to mind?
    Proverbs 13:11; 1 Chronicles 29:17; Matthew 7:12; James 4:17; Luke 10:29-37; 1 Corinthians 6:12; 10:23; 2 Timothy 6:10

Tighter airport security targets toys - Stevens Point Journal, Wisconsin
There are few who would seriously suspect 9-year-old Ryan Scott of Plover is a terrorist or worry that he might hijack an airplane, certainly not with a 4-inch G.I. Joe rifle or the other tiny toy pistols he packed in his carry-on.
