TODAY'S DIALOGUE - August 16, 2002
This page is updated by 2:00 pm (PST)
Part
2 of 2:
Film Forum: Family-Friendly Fare from Fancied Fathers of Filth
- Christianity Today
Disney isn't the only cultural bogeyman turning to more
family-friendly films. Richard Rodriguez, who made a name for himself
with hyperviolent action movies like El Mariachi and Desperado and monster
movies like The Faculty and From Dusk Till Dawn, has become an unlikely
champion of family filmmaking with the success of last year's Spy Kids.
Religious media critics are pleased with the return of siblings Carmen
and Juni Cortez in Spy Kids 2: The Island of Lost Dreams, but a few
voice disappointments.

- The second part of this article talks about movies and what the
critics are saying. This is what DinnerDialogue.com
will focus on today.
- What is the criteria in determining whether or not you will see
a movie? How do you use the information you get from film critics?
What is the best movie you saw this summer? What movie did you really
want to see but didn't? Why did you really want to see it? What is
your favorite all time movie?
- What does it take for you to walk out of a movie? When was the last
time you walked out of a movie? Did you talk to a manager? What did
you tell them?
- How have you used movies to share the Gospel or some spiritual issue
with your friends and/or neighbors?
- Check out our Movie
Reviews from HollywoodJesus.com and see if you came to the same
conclusions they do.
